The Jom Thong Orphanage is a new and struggling orphanage for Karen children living in Thailand. Home to 21 girls and 21 boys, the orphanage is cramped, with inadequate sleeping accommodations, little to no food, and absolutely no toys, games, or play equipment for the children. C.O.L.O.R. is working to improve the children’s living conditions, provide nutritional support, and bring some fun into their lives. C.O.L.O.R. provided the orphanage with new sleeping mats, blankets, shoes, sports equipment, toys, musical instruments, and repaired the homes toilets bringing them from 2 to 4 functioning toilet facilities. In addition C.O.L.O.R. provided the orphanage with several 5 and 10 kilo bags of food and have set-up 1 year of monthly food support for the orphanage. Thanks to C.O.L.O.R. project manager Gary Van Haneghan for locating this project and Bill Taylor at the SE Asia Children’s Foundation for donating a much needed refrigerator to the Jom Thong Orphanage. Thank you also to our many donors who make projects like this possible.
